Nathalie Emmanuel
Nathalie Joanne Emmanuel(born 2 March 1989) is an English actress. Emmanuel started her stage career in the late 90s. She was given parts in West End musicals like The Lion King. She began her acting career in 2006 , playing Sasha Valentine, a soap opera. After that she was cast in various British television series and the sequel Maze Runner. Her mother is Dominican. Her father is half Saint Lucian and half English. She has a younger sister. Emmanuel remembers her mother's first note of her love for acting and her dream to be an actress when she was a student at St Hilda's School. This school closed in 2014 , and it was renamed the Westcliff High School. She explained that she first realized her love for acting when she was three years old. Her mother then suggested that she take singing, dancing, and acting classes. In the West End production of The Lion King, Young Nala played the character as Young Nala. The following year, she was cast in Game of Thrones as Missandei Daenerys Targaryen's interpreter. She told Jimmy Kimmel that she heard about her winning the role while she was working as a store assistant in a clothes shop. Emmanuel was promoted to a regular actor on the show in the year 2015. Missandei was the only female from a different race in the cast. Her death scene while she was locked up was not a hit with viewers. Emmanuel later said to The Guardian that the reaction to the death of Missandei was so powerful because she was the one. I think that a lot of people who felt excluded or marginalized loved Missandei and believed that they were represented by her. People were so hurt when she passed away and died tragically tragic. This is the way they intend to pay tribute to the one woman of their race.
