Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a writer from Greece, a syndicated writer of columns as well as a businesswoman. She is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she was able to move to England when she was sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Following graduation, she left her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later she created an online voice portal which gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. Her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to run independently during the California recall election in order to succeed the then governor Davis. Arianna was also part of an initiative in Detroit that promoted fuel-efficient automobiles. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th place on the list. The same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter of Konstantinos a management advisor and a journalist. They were very close to her father. But it was her bond with her mother that formed her. In her early years, she displayed her leadership skills that she is still known for. When she was 16 she relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third and first female to serve as president. In 1972, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics. She was a journalist television host, and columnist upon her graduation. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editing assistance.
