Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. She also is the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She emigrated from Greece to England at the age of 16 and earned an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took on the role. Her popularity as a conservative journalist was further consolidated when she finished her degree. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online platform for voice that gave critical opinions on the politics. Her fame has led to the attraction of many well-known contributors for posting their views on current events, politics and culture. Arianna became famous after she made the decision in 2003 to stand as an independent Candidate in the California Recall Election in order to succeed former Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna was also the leader of an initiative in Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their list. The same year Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she was a close friend to her father it was her bond with her mother which shaped her character. In her earliest years she demonstrated leadership skills that are still highly regarded. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. As the third woman president and first foreigner, she was the president of the Cambridge Union. In 1972, her master's in Economics was conferred. Her professional career as TV host and journalist started after her graduation. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. Her first novel was written. books, taking his help in editing.
