Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with 12 other children. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from the harsh realities of everyday life. She was writing songs before she learned to write or read. When she was 8, she got her first electric guitar and started singing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. Gold Band Records is a small label that is independent. In high school she established herself in the school community but her ambition was bigger. After graduating high school in 1964 she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host in the late '60s, was looking for a singer for his program. Parton joined RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. It was not until 1974 that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's program as the popularity of her solo albums including Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene had outstripped their collaborative efforts. Parton recorded I Will Always Love You to Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. The song reached the top of the charts at. The first time it reached the top spot was in 1974.
